This is a (very) late diary about a trivial but happy day.
This year, March 24th, I met with my friend, Wonjeong. Because of the Covid 19, we couldn't go to school and were quite bored of the same repeating days. So we planned to go an exhibition and Coex center. Before going to the gallery, we ate burgers and french fries for late lunch in Coex.
After a good lunch and short stroll in Coex center, we headed to the gallery. The gallery name was 'My Art Museum'. We went inside the exhibition room and walked along, watching sharing the appreciation about Muha's works. By the time about 30 minutes passed since we arrived, we heard an announcement that explanation about Muha will start in a minute. We were kinda confused about what we should do while watching the art works and wanted to know more detailed information about him(Muha). Therefore, we started to follow the curator and listened to her explanation carefully.
I strongly recommend trying this "No Brand Burger".

In conclusion, it was one of the best choice I have made in my life. The curator was very passionate and the audience were paying attention to her with good reactions. She (the curator) almost cried while talking about one of his greatest works which was made while his home country, Czech, was under the colonial governing by the Nazi. It felt as if I was watching Muha's whole life in a movie. I was also impressed by the intensity of his latter art works. Those works are intense and dark compared to his early works that we are used to it. However, It looked more like his own characterful works.
It was hard to pick one, but my favorite work was <The Seasons Series>. He drew variety of series works, and this is one of the most famous one. The color and decorative style of the painting satisfied my eyes. And the mysterious smile of the women, representing each seasons made me hard to get my eyes off.
The interesting fact of the picture also remains in my memory. When the curator asked us "Which one do you think was the most famous piece to contemporary people?" I thought the 'Summer' would have been the most loved one. However, she answered that people liked 'Winter' the most. Since, the drawing style of Japan named Ukiyo-e was trendy at that time, the audience liked his drawing 'Winter' which followed that Japan style: simple coloring and bold outline emphasizing the flatness of the picture.

I have gone to several other art exhibitions before when I was young. However, this exhibition felt special to me cause it was the first time I went with my own will with my friend. It was a precious experience that made me love watching good artworks and find new exhibitions I would go next time. Actually, I already chose the next exhibition and I am really looking forward to it. I hope many people go to exhibitions and share more good appreciations about the beautiful works of artists.
