All about Blur
Blur is a British rock band formed in 1988.
There are 4 members: Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowontree.
Their main music genre is Britpop, however, their songs have various styles. They made their first album 'Lesuire' and went a tour as an opening band. However, the first album got mixed reception and they were just known as an indi rock band.
They got famous since the release of second album 'Modern Life is Rubbish' From this album , their musical genre almost fixed as Britpop. Their popularity reached the peak in 1994, when they released their third album 'Parklife'.
They went through some hard time after their climax of popularity. (short breakup, conflict between members and so on) However, they are still working as a band until now.
Members of Blur
Damon Albarn (Vocal&Leader)
He is the vocal and leader of the band. He and Graham were friends since 12 and went to London to study music together. Actually he was planning to be an actor, however, because of the poor acting skill he quit and started to make a band. He and Graham usually wrote most of the songs of Blur and managed the stage like the director.
He is known that he has charismatic leadership. He sings and show powerful performance on the stage, but he is quite calm person off the stage.
Also, as you can see he is very handsome and cute.
Graham Coxon (Guitar)
Graham Coxon is the first guitar of the band and old friend of Damon. He went to London to study art in Gold Smiths University. He became the third member of the band. He's the main member of song writing (with Damon) and a very talented guitarist. The representative songs are <Coffee and TV>, <Tender> and so on.
His personality is opposite with Damon. Contrary to active and extroverted personality of Damon, he is usually quiet and introvert person.According to his friends he's also very extraordinary and artistically sensitive person.
Also, as you can see he is very handsome and cute.
Alex James (Bass)
Alex James is the bassist of the band. He met with his future band mates, Graham and Damon in Gold Smiths University, which he was majoring in France. He became the last member joining the band although he wasn't an excellent bass player. Blur's drummer said he insisted to scout Alex because of his handsome face. (Though he is now a competent bassist)
He has similar personality with Damon: active and cheerful all the time. He is now a cheese maker & farm owner but still plays bass in his own music festival that opens in his cheese farm.
Also, as you can see he is very handsome.
Dave Rowontree (Drum)
Dave Rowontree is the drummer of the band. He is the main member who started Blur with Damon. He studied computer programming before he became musician. He has various talents and studied in lots of area (for example, he worked as a computer programmer, lawyer, animator and even politician nowadays.)
He has stable personality and mood. He's also quite cool-headed and precise all the time, he usually took care of the contract and monetary problems.
Also, as you can see he is very handsome and cute.
The reason I love this band
First, I never get tired of listening to their songs. Because they have various styles (britpop, dance, ballad, and even jazz). I think that this is the most strong point as musician. They always challenge new things and never fail.
Second, they have good looking face. Rock is a synthetic art including visual of the band. In this aspect, Blur is one of the most excellent band that qualifies the condition of good rock bands.
